SUPPORT
Our value includes our investment in you

Salem receives high marks for a culture in which business and the community are close partners and the best of neighbors. This is consistently reflected in government services that work hard to make doing business in Salem easy.
Need help with permitting? The offices of Community Development and Urban Development, and other local entities, are set up to support, facilitate and streamline the process. Our approach is hands-on. Personal. Decidedly un-bureaucratic.
We’ll help you assess and qualify for local and state incentives and tax exemptions. For example, the regional Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR) can help firms obtain a three-year, 100 percent property tax exemption on new plans and equipment – plus a 10 percent rebate of certain building permit fees – under the Oregon Enterprise Zone program. Other incentives include tax credits for engaging in electronic commerce within the Salem Enterprise Zone.
The greener the better. Salem’s signature livability has always been closely tied to good environmental practices. If your business revolves around green technologies, alternative energy, or sustainable services, or you want help in applying them to the way you work, we have the resources, expertise, and incentives to help.
