Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Progam provides subsidized vouchers to eligible participants to rent from private landlords.  The HCV program serves approximately 3,000 households in the Salem-Keizer area. The voucher pays a portion of the rent and the participant household pays 30 to 40% of income for rent and utlities.  Vouchers can be used at several Housing Authority sites as well as privately owned properties.   Rent is based on income.
