Advertising with Salem Public Library

Salem Public Library offers four options for supporting the library and reaching the community through advertising. Advertising is available in the Central Library and West Salem Branch breezeways, in the monthly library newsletter and now, as part of an informative presentation shown before each World of Music at the Library or Modern Voices Author Series event. Central Library Breezeway

Poster ad space is available to businesses and organizations in the breezeway at Salem Public Library's Central Library. The Central Library is visited by 60,000-80,000 active, interested customers each month. These are readers who pay close attention to print message. Because it is a city library, most visitors live in and have close ties to the Salem community.

The breezeway offers space for 14 full-color 24x36 posters to promote businesses, organizations, and events. Posters are displayed in standard, plexiglass-front, drop-in frames mounted on the breezeway walls. The cost is just $200/month + production (Space is available for full calendar months only; production referrals available upon request.) All proceeds support the Salem Public Library.

West Salem Branch Breezeway

Three 24x36 poster holders are also available in the entryway of the West Salem Branch. These spaces are available to business and organizations for $100/month + production. (Space is available for full calendar months only; production referrals available upon request.) All proceeds support the Salem Public Library.

Friends of the Salem Public Library Newsletter

Advertising space is available in the Salem Public Library newsletter, which provides 2,500+ library users with information about library-sponsored cultural events, educational opportunities, and general news. Sponsored by the Friends of the Salem Public Library, the newsletter is published 10 times each year and mailed to some 650 avid library supporters on a subscription basis. An additional 1,900 copies are distributed at Library service desks and through local bookstores and organizations. An online pdf is accessed by many readers each month.

A limited number of ad spaces are available at rates of $30 and $45 (see samples ). Ads may be designed by the client or by newsletter designer and editor Sonja Somerville.

Pre-Show Presentation for Library Events

Local business and organizations can appear in the pre-show presentation that fills audiences in on library facts, upcoming events, and other community information. Rates are $50 for a 10-show season. All events are held in the 285-seat Loucks Auditorium.
