May 2, 2008 - Structure Fire -Logan Court NE

Salem Fire Department received the call for a structure fire at 2979 Logan Court NE at 11:41 pm on Friday, May 2, 2008.  The first alarm sent 3 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, and a Battalion Chief.   First arriving fire fighters reported a single story family dwelling with smoke coming from it. 

A second alarm was called at 11:51 pm bringing more fire fighters and equipment to the scene.   

Fire fighters battled the blaze for over 10-minutes before they had it under control.

No injuries were reported.  The occupant/owner Mr. Corona Ignacio told fire fighters that prior to the fire they had ran a load of clothes in the washer and dryer.

No injuries occurred do to this fire. The investigation showed the fire started by improper ventilation around the dryer.  The occupant had a lot of clutter around the dryer not allowing the dryer to vent properly.   Damage was estimated to be over $100,000. The owner is insured.
