City Manager Linda Norris

The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and serves as the chief executive officer of the city. The City Manager works closely with the Mayor and City Council on major issues affecting the community.  The City Manager provides Council with information on future operational needs, policy matters and regulatory requirements. With the assistance of the management team, the City Manager coordinates the work of the city's 11 departments and major city projects.  The City Manager annually prepares a recommended budget for consideration by the Citizen Budget Committee and the City Council.  The City Manager also serves as the Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency.

The City Manager provides leadership for the city's 1231 employees who work diligently to provide exceptional public service to the Salem community.

Opening the current Council agenda provides access to the reports on the agenda.  Locate the Council item on the agenda and open the report.  Archived agendas go back to May 27, 2003, and include the agenda, reports, and the minutes.  Agendas, reports, and minutes from meetings before this date are not online, but may be obtained from the City Recorder's Office.

Special Reports and Features

The Upcoming Major Topics List  provides a summary of major issues that will be brought before the City Council and/or the Urban Renewal Agency in the near future.  Timelines for citizen input are noted in the report.

The Significant Approved Projects Status Report provides a summary of prominent issues or projects that have received approval for action from the City Council and/or the Urban Renewal Agency.  These projects have received citizen input and are currently in progress.
